Hello, and thank you for using Strand.
Strand is made by one person, so when you reach out, you're talking to the maker directly. I'm always glad to help.
The best way to reach me is by email:
I read every message and aim to reply within [a few days]. If you're writing about a problem, it helps to include your device (for example, iPhone 15), your iOS version, and a short description of what happened.
Everything you create in Strand — your projects, photos, notes, and row counts — is stored privately on your own device. Strand has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers of its own. Your projects never leave your phone unless you choose to share them.
No. Strand does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. Apple may provide developers with anonymized, aggregate crash and usage reports if you've opted in through your iOS settings, but Strand itself does not collect, store, or share any personal information about you.
Because everything is stored locally on your device, Strand does not currently back up to the cloud or sync between devices. This is part of what keeps your information private — but it also means:
A backup and export option is something I'm considering for a future update. In the meantime, I'd gently suggest keeping your own copies of any project photos that are especially important to you.
